Another busy week. Most of the week was spent in Holland with one of Corporate Edge’s biggest client undertaking a training course on their Content Management System.
Got back home late on Thursday evening after lots of studying and a good few lagers, even managed a quick pint or two in Amsterdam before returning home.
I’ve been somewhat overwhelmed by the number of ex-colleagues who have been in touch over the last couple of weeks – lots of interesting opportunities out there at the moment so I hope to be able to get involved in some of them.
Finally set up my business bank account this week, yes I’m a bit slow on the uptake, and I’m hoping my stationery will get printed this week after many tweaks. Fortunately I haven’t really needed them yet, but it’s been getting more and more embarrassing.
I had an experience this week, my first with handling payments with companies, and my advice to anyone starting up on their own would be; sort out your payment terms up front. Lots of people told me but I didn’t necessarily take it on board properly.
Off to football soon, we are away and I haven’t played for a few weeks so hopefully I will be able to get around the pitch.
I have arranged a photo-shoot before the game, as our first three teams have new kits this week so the photos are for our kind sponsors.
I’m not going to Cardiff tomorrow for the cup final, but obviously wish the boys all the best. I’ve a funny feeling Arsenal will do it, even with the kids – especially as John Terry isn’t playing.
Finally I’m aiming on having my website finished by the end of next week, so please return then to see more about janleeks.com.
see ya
