iphone G3 amongst other things

August 19th, 2008

Hello,

yes I have an iphone G3.

I regret buying it too.

I should have just kept using the standard one with the new software, but like most geeks I can’t relax until I have the latest model.

Not that I didn’t have a good business reason for getting my hands on one.

I was hoping my email/calendar service would be faster, and more responsive. Like my old Blackberry actually, but I’m sad to say its not.

Yes it’s a great piece of kit, the V2′ software opens the iphone up as a wonderful new platform for mobile computing, games etc etc. Its actually quite amazing, but my beef is that the new one is not much better than the old one.

I understand apple are releasing an update to make the G3 connectivity better, blah blah blah. It should be ready when I brought it, if the software isn’t right they shouldn’t launch it.

Which brings me onto the mobile me service. I’ve been a dotmac user for over a year now, and find it a pretty handy service – it was clearly dated but I found it useful all the same.

Now I know there have been some huge teething problems with mobile me, and I will keep my subscription to the service – but the first few weeks have been awful. I am also not impressed with the whole situation with the iphone/mobileme and POP email accounts. Blackberry seem to manage a decent service, so I hope apple can follow suit fast.

So as an Apple product and software fan, I hope these issues resolve themselves soon, and we get the product and services we were promised – at least before the new iphone arrives!

I’ve been fairly busy as usual, more work for my friends in Battersea/Adu Dhabi keeping me mega busy with tons of templates.

I’ve made some progress with my projects with blinds4UK, K&M Decorators and Dataquest Solutions. These sites should be up and live by the end of September(ish) too, and so I will obviously be telling you all about them here.

I’ve also just completed some updates to petercameronfineart.com, and the new collection will be put live in the coming weeks.

Away from the computers, I’m now getting used to life in Walton on Thames, having joined a gym, started playing tennis and generally enjoying myself.

Football is back and I was over in my old stomping ground last weekend, went to Arsenal and caught up with friends and family so that was good.

This weekend we have a friendly match arranged so it looks like i’ll be on the M25 again…. Must clean my boots as the season starts here.

more soon
