week 2, and I have been working all week with Corporate Edge. My normal contract leaves me time to engage with other project and continue networking with potential new clients and relationships but this week was full on with Corporate Edge.
what a week it was too! Monday and Tuesday in the office moving forward a number of projects and catching up on those i’ve missed out on in the week away.
wednesday saw a day full of meetings. Meeting 1 was successful and I understand that an interesting project came out it that will being pretty soon. Meeting two was a lunch meeting with one of Corporate Edge’s main clients. Lovely steak and chips in a french restaurant. Another meeting followed, which put us off course for our flight to Geneva. It was by the seat of the pants stuff for Richard (Head of CE online) and I to catch up with the rest of the team at luton airport.
depsite everything (including me packing too many toiletries, going the opposite direction to the departure gate, wearing in new shoes etc etc) we managed to catch the flight…. just!
geneva was a whistle stop tour, dinner (steak-frites again), and thursday morning saw us in front of a team or experts at our overseas client. i was first up demonstrating the recommended content management system. unfortunately our mac laptop didnt want to play ball in parallels mode (windows emulation) with the wireless network. an hour and much embarrassment later, we had snagged a laptop from one of the attendees and ran through the demonstration without anymore hitches.
my colleagues were professional throughout and the rest of the day went without hitch. our next obstacle was getting out of geneva due to the snow. at one point it looked as though we were going to be stuck in geneva, but fortunately our flight went ahead. tip, if you are in geneva airport, you are not going to find an exciting experience when it comes to food after 9pm. somehow richard begged the chef of the only restaurant to knock us up something hot (steak-frites!) after much pleading, otherwise it would have been sandwiches!
Finally back home around half past midnight, up for a 9.30 all day workshop in central london that overran a little, one more meeting a few more emails and week two is officially over. What a week, i’m knackered.
today sees me catching up on other bits and bobs, fortunately footy is cancelled today and tomorrow so I can try to sort out paperwork and any other things i’m behind on.
going to arsenal vs wigan tomorrow so a bit of a chance to unwind before the onslaught of monday is upon me. see ya next time.
p.s. i do intend on finishing my own site at some point soon, please bear with me! Best to busy!
